INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Summer might be winding down, but at Incline Village Parks andamp; Recreation we have a full schedule of fun activities all year long.Before and after school at Kidz Club is the perfect way for kids to start and end their school day. Activities include positive socializing, sports, games, art, reading, homework help and healthy snacks.New this fall, Youth Cheer focuses on the basics of gymnastic tumbling, cheer dance, basic cheer stunts, stretching, and strength. Those families staying in town during the school breaks in October and December should check out Camp Xtreme, including hands-on projects and adventures, and games that excite, energize, and keep kids active all week.Or take advantage of Parents’ Night Out, filled with fun for the kids including swimming, movies, art, games in the gym, all while parents get a night alone! Or look into Totally Active at the Rec Center where youth, ages 12+, can swim, shoot hoops and workout in the fitness room, noon-5:30 p.m. daily.Shotokan Karate focuses on self-defense, improved physical and mental health, self-discipline and self-confidence. Karate is a great class for the whole family to enjoy together.For youth sports enthusiasts, the year-round competitive Incline Basketball Club focuses on skill development, technique improvement and full scrimmages. Youth Basketball Clinics and Leagues begin in November, Micro Soccer with former professional soccer player Mike Simon, and volleyball clinics with Coach Tony Graeber in the fall are all designed to improve skills and provide both competitive and non-competitive fun while improving fundamental skills.Session I of Fall Swim Lessons begin September 11, following the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim guidelines, where instruction focuses on the importance of water safety and progressive skills to become a proficient swimmer. Take your swimming ability one step further, and join our Silver Stars Swim Team for novice and competitive youth athletes.Calling all teens! It’s never too early to start building your professional career.
