The El Dorado Community Foundation is now accepting applicants for grants for the youth of South Lake Tahoe.
This year, the foundation has $57,000 to allocate to help youth. Nominations are now being accepted from nonprofits, churches, schools and service organizations that serve youth in the area. Grants up of to $5,000 will be considered. They are made possible by the South Lake Tahoe Endwoment, which is comprised of the Joan Rochelle Fund and the South Lake Tahoe Area Fund. Funding will be issued in the fall.
Recipients are selected by the Cabinet for the South Lake Tahoe Endowment Fund at the Foundation, which includes Mark Acri, Wendy David, Bob Novasel, Karen Houser and Doug Rosner. Over the past five years, the cabinet has granted more than $273,000 to the community.
Organizations with qualifying programs and individuals who would like to make a nomination can obtain an application at www.eldoradocf.org.
