TRUCKEE, Calif. — In less than two months nearly one thousand food and wine savvy shoppers will join together for the 9th Annual Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk andamp; Shop. The Wine Walk scheduled for Oct. 6 from noon to 4 p.m. brings foot traffic to the town of Truckee during a traditionally slow season and offers massive exposure to participating businesses. With a host of new venues, restaurants and wineries added to the lineup, businesses alike have limited opportunity to sign up and participate in one of Truckee's preeminent events.Due to proximity of the event date, businesses should sign up now for participation or sponsorship. This event not only brings affluent tourists and locals into downtown shops and restaurants, but allows for businesses that sponsor the event to gain great media exposure.Brinn Talbot, owner and president of Switchback PR + Marketing noted that in addition to press coverage, collateral and the program, sponsors are included on the Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk andamp; Shop website www.truckeewinewalk.com.“This site address is included in all of our outreach and people have already started visiting it in anticipation of the event and ticket sales are coming in,” Talbot said.In addition to the incredible exposure, businesses can also feel good about supporting a great non-profit organization. A portion of this year's event's proceeds will be donated to the Family Resource Center of Truckee, an organization committed to empowering families and individuals to be self sufficient, valued and contributing members of the community. Few sponsorship opportunities are still available, ranging from $500 to $2,500. Businesses wishing to sponsor or participate should contact Switchback at 530-550-2252. There is no fee for restaurants or wineries that wish to participate as they are asked to provide 500-800 food samples or wine tastings. The Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk andamp; Shop is a fundraising event produced by Switchback. Tickets are $35 in advance ($40 day of the event) and are available online at www.TruckeeWineWalk.com. Closer to the event date, tickets will be available at locations throughout the Truckee-Reno area, including an exclusive shuttle transportation package from West Street Wine Bar in Reno.
