INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Every school has its own distinct personality and offers a program that is unique. The goal of the best schools is to create a learning environment that fulfills its own mission and philosophy. Parents, students, faculty, and administrators have been drawn to Lake Tahoe School because we provide our students with a vibrant and distinctive education.
At Lake Tahoe School, we value what children learn, how they learn, their commitment to education and what they actually do with their learning. That focus is evident in the faces, questions, comments and actions of our students.
Whether you observe students interacting with their teachers or encounter them in the hallways or at an after school activity — or even in the grocery store — you will be impressed by their confidence in themselves and their comfort with Lake Tahoe School.
Our population has grown to more than 140 students, but our teacher/student ratio has remained less than 1 to 10. All faculty are fully credentialed, experienced, and passionate about their roles and responsibilities as educators.
Many hold advanced degrees. In addition to dedicated teachers and space (our beautiful, modern building encompasses 56,000 square feet) for science, art, music, foreign language and PE, we offer a full interscholastic sports program for grades 5 and above.
All students participate in an extensive outdoor adventure program that features exceptional local and regional trips as well as others that venture throughout California and beyond.
Lake Tahoe School graduates distinguish themselves and their alma mater through their outstanding participation in regional schools (AP classes, We the People, student government, sports, etc.) and through their acceptance in premier private schools around the country (Bishop Manogue, Cate, Deerfield, Holderness, Lawrenceville, Phillips Exeter, Stratton Mountain, Stevenson, Thacher).
Their college placement includes: Brown, Cornell, Harvard, Northeastern, Swarthmore, Tufts, Wellesley and Williams, as well as strong state universities.
If you are interested in joining this remarkable community, we encourage you to visit our school and meet our students and faculty. We are confident that after seeing our campus, you will discover, firsthand, the exceptional learning community that is Lake Tahoe School.
