INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. and#8212; A priority-setting meeting billed as being the first major step to charting the next two decades for Incline Village is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug., 28, from 7-9 p.m.

At the meeting, officials with the Nevada Rural Development Council and#8212; whoand#8217;ve assisted the grassroots Incline Village/Crystal Bay 2020 Vision project this year and#8212; will present a draft community report to residents.

According to the council, the purpose of Tuesdayand#8217;s meeting is for residents to prioritize five themes and#8212; Community Development, Education, Governance, Mobility and Quality of Life and#8212; that arose from comments heard at various listening sessions it conducted in June.

Once residents set priorities, the next step is to develop a plan to address the issues and concerns identified through the assessment process.

According to previous reports, opening Diamond Peak up for summer recreation, improving walkability and bikeability among commercial businesses and redeveloping the old K-2 elementary school were among key ideas offered at the sessions, along with a slew of other wishes, praises and criticisms of the community.
