I saw the most disturbing incident on Highway 267, about 500 feet from the stoplight at Highway 28 at about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25 and#8212; a hit-and-run driver crushing a 41-pound bear cub.
We are all very upset at thisand#8212; this location was near a residential area, and the driver was over the speed limit. Itand#8217;s a 35 mile-per-hour speed limit and#8212; most drivers are racing up and down the hill at least 20 miles above the speed limit. We are waiting for control.
