The Incline girls’ tennis team split two matches in the past week, dropping a close one against South Tahoe, 10-8 on Thursday, before handily defeating Sparks 13-8 on Tuesday.
Incline’s singles players continued to excel with freshmen Anne Schrage running her varsity record to 9-0. Co-captains Toby Felman and Ginetta Sagan improved their records to 8-1 and 7-2, respectively. The Highlanders’ No. 1 doubles team of Tara Lincoln and Amanda Pretti improved their record to 5-4 with three quality wins against the Railroaders.
“We have a small squad with a number of relatively inexperienced players, and it is encouraging to see them improve each week,” said Incline head coach Jim Giancola. “We will get some good wins from these teams as they continue to work hard and improve.”
The Incline girls are now 2-1 on the season. Their next match is at Damonte Ranch on Thursday at 3 p.m.
