Good Morning Truckee to discuss Donner museum status, mountain history

TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Sept. 11 Good Morning Truckee will hear from two speakers at Truckee Town Hall. Scott Elliott, supervising ranger, Lake Sector/Sierra District will provide an update on the progress of the new museum building and other news from Donner Memorial State Park.

Derek Larson, a Sierra College professor since 2000, outdoor adventure guide and naturalist since 1988 will present the “Birth of the Tahoe Sierra.” The forces that built the mountains and Lake Tahoe, what makes the lake so unique and the threat of tsunamis will be discussed.

Good Morning Truckee is a community forum presented by the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce to provide timely and relevant information on a variety of topics and create a networking opportunity.

Good Morning Truckee is open to the public, held the second Tuesday of every month, 7-8:30 a.m. Price at the door is $10; Truckee Donner Chamber members $8 and includes a continental breakfast.
