INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. and#8212; Two special and#8220;Soireeand#8221; events will take place in elegant private homes as fundraisers for the concert series and for the Tahoe Symphony Youth Orchestra.
The first is at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 in Glenshire, and the other at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 at Incline Village. Wine and elegant hors dand#8217;oeuvres are included with special entertainment.
Singers Joy Strotz, Anna Helwing, Liudmila Mullin and Stuart Duke will perform, accompanied by Donna Axton on piano. Elizabeth Pitcairn will perform selections from Brahmsand#8217; Violin Concerto and several encore favorites. For and#8220;Soireeand#8221; information call 787-602-2121.
Pitcairn will play her famous Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius violin in our home in support of Toccataand#8217;s 9/11 Memorial Concert Series. These private performances are a wonderful musical experience that we invite and encourage you to share with us.
This yearand#8217;s 9/11 Concert Series ends Toccataand#8217;s seventh season.
Fridayand#8217;s reception begins at 5:30 pm, and performances start at 6 p.m. Dress is Tahoe casual. Bring a wrap or jacket if you care to step outside for the view.

Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will conclude its 2012 Tahoe Summer MusicFest with a concert series that commemorates the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.
The series features famed violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn performing Johannes Brahmsand#8217; Concerto for Violin in D major Op.77 on the legendary Red Stradivarius Violin.
The concert will conclude with Brahmsand#8217; symphonic-choral masterpiece, A German Requiem, with soloists Katharine DeBoer, Joy Strotz, and Anna Helwing, sopranos; and Stuart Duke, baritone; and features the Tahoe Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Maestro James Rawie, Toccataand#8217;s founder and artistic director, will conduct all performances.

and#8212; 7 p.m. Monday, Sept.17 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Reno
Tickets are $30 adults, $25 seniors, (62 and up), and $5 students ages 19-23. Preferred seating is available for $40 and can be reserved online.
A grant from the Tahoe Parasol Foundation allows youth 18 and under to enter at no charge.
