TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; TOCCATA and#8212; Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will conclude their 2012 Tahoe Summer MusicFest with a concert series that commemorates the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. The series features famed violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn performing Johannes Brahmsand#8217; Concerto for Violin in D major Op.77 on the legendary Red Stradivarius violin. The concert will conclude with Brahmsand#8217; symphonic-choral masterpiece, A German Requiem, with soloists Katharine DeBoer, Joy Strotz, and Anna Helwing, sopranos; and Stuart Duke, baritone; and features the Tahoe Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Maestro James Rawie, TOCCATAand#8217;s founder and Artistic Director, will conduct all performances. Remaining concerts include: Thursday, Sept. 13, 7 p.m., Assumption Catholic Church, Truckee; Saturday, Sept. 15, 4 p.m., North Tahoe Hebrew Congregation, Tahoe Vista and Monday, Sept. 17, 7 p.m., Trinity Episcopal Church, Reno, Nev.
Tickets are $30 adults, $25 seniors, (62 and up), and $5 students ages 19-23. Preferred seating is available for $40 and can be reserved online. A grant from the Tahoe Parasol Foundation allows youth 18 and under to enter at no charge.
