Many thanks to our Incline firefighters for saving my life

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — On Sept. 3, 2012, at 2 a.m., I had a serious heart attack. After dialing 911, Capt. Carol Green and her crew, Todd Bassett, Monti Santos and Ken Leijon, arrived at my home in minutes. I had collapsed on the floor with severe chest pain, and, finding no blood pressure or pulse, they worked together to recover me.Fluids and pain medication were administered, CareFlight was called and in a very short time I was in a helicopter on my way to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. The team there was able to get me into surgery for a life-saving procedure.Without our well-trained fire personal stabilizing and transporting me in the most efficient and expedient way, I would not be alive today.North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Mike Schwartz is very proud of the district’s training program and procedures. My humble thanks,Barbara Kelley,Incline Village
