The Incline football team improved to 3-0 with a 14-11 win at Rite of Passage on Friday.
In what Incline head coach Scott Conn called “a slugfest,” the Highlanders managed a season-low 187 yards of total offense while holding the Rams to just 157 yards — 80 of which came on a deep touchdown pass play in the fourth quarter.
Senior fullback Sean Herrera led the Incline offense with 115 rushing yards on 18 carries, with one touchdown. Brendon Steinmeyer put Incline on the board with a 30-yard fumble return in the second quarter, as he benefited from a hit by Ben Reber on a blitz that forced the fumble.
“It was a great win,” Conn said. “Incline is 3-0 for the first time since anyone can remember.”
The Highlanders, who are 2-0 in Northern Division III play, will travel to face undefeated Yerington on Friday, Sept. 21.
