TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — Bonafide Books will host a workshop to benefit Adventure Risk Challenge that brings together three disciplines and one landscape. Walk the Sagehen Creek Field Station trails with a biologist, artist and poet to glean how they interpret the natural world and how you can use similar techniques and tools in your own work.-
Explore the Sierra through the lenses of science, art, and literature while supporting the strong voices of the next generation through Adventure Risk Challenge.
Presenters are the fabulous: Michelle Murdock, artist, printmaker of Quail Lane Press; Sue Kloss, Ph.D., Wildland Resource Science, LTCC biology instructor; and Janet Smith, poet, LTCC English faculty.
The day’s session begins with an introductory talk, followed by time in the woods and then an exercise or experiential piece to encourage engagement with nature and self. Draw, write, observe, take field notes — learn new ways to look at the landscape and translate it into your work.
Cost is $60 and includes lunch and snack, $40 student rate for the Sept. 22, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. workshop at Sagehen Creek Field Station.
