Spreading free smiles across Truckee

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Sierra Crest Dental will host its 2nd annual Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH) event, providing a free day of dental care to more than 75 residents. Care will be provided on a first come, first served basis for adults 18-years-old and older. The event registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. for Dentistry From The Heart patients.

In 2001, Dentistry From The Heart, a registered nonprofit organization, started as a way to give back to the community and provide aid to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. Since its inception, Dentistry From The Heart has grown to include more than 200 annual events nationwide and provided more than 45,000 people with free dental care services.

Annually, Dr. Colpitts and his team of dentists, volunteers and sponsors provide patients with a free extraction, filling or cleaning. This is the 2nd annual event for Dr. Colpitts, who donated more than $30,000 in free dental care to more than 65 Truckee residents in 2011 at Sierra Crest Dental’s inaugural Dentistry From The Heart Day.

“It all comes down to wanting to provide something greater to my community,” said Dr. Colpitts. “The services provided by Dentistry From The Heart helps more than just a patients teeth, it gives them a renewed reason to smile.”

Join Dr. Colpitts on Friday, Sept. 28 at Sierra Crest Dental located at 40169 Truckee Airport Road, Suite 204 for Dentistry From The Heart. For more information visit www.dentistryfromtheheart.org.
