INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. and#8212; In order to service all remaining requests for defensible space evaluations and chipping in a timely manner and prior to potential inclement weather approaching, the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District has announced that Friday, Oct. 12, will be the last day to request these services. This will allow the fire district time to complete the last requests for the 2012 season.

For chipping requests, please remember that the pile needs to be curbside (limbs no larger than 6 inches in diameter, no stumps, roots, garbage, nails or finished lumber and pile must not exceed 10and#8217;x10and#8217;x10and#8217;).
Folks who are on the 2012 list that have not yet been completed will be contacted and arrangements made to complete each request. To date, the fire district has completed approximately 175 defensible space requests and 130 chipping requests for the 2012 season.
The district anticipates beginning the prescribed burn program in the near future, depending on proper weather conditions.
