Village Notes: What’s happening in our community

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — We are heading into the last days of September and already that chill is in the air and the hope for an early winter is the talk of the village. Let’s get the best of the last days out on the golf course, hit the trails or spend time at the beach, we have lots of great days ahead before winter sets in.One question I have for the village is can someone explain why we have so many phone books? I cannot stand one more phone book wasting paper, plastic bags and ending up in the trash or all over the village. Stop with the phone books! This weekend get over to Bowl Incline and support Tahoe Family Solutions annual Bowl-a-thon. Just go to watch and give donations to cheer on the teams or individuals bowling — we have some interesting teams that will be bowling so don’t miss this community event and all donations help. If you want to donate, sign up or need information just call Amy at 775-298-0044.Ronda at Bar Bar Bar is already holding her annual coat drive. Next time you go to the post office, just drop off your donations and she will take care of the rest. If you have questions, just stop and ask Rhonda. The annual blood drive at the Rec. Center is from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. Call Cherry Barney to get more information about signing up at 775-832-5058 or stop at the Rec. Center.Don’t forget the annual Tahoe Fall Fest is at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the Big Water Grille. This is a going to be a “boot stomping, Wild West” event and is a fundraiser for Tahoe’s Connection for Families.
