Once again, the Incline girls tennis team split two matches this past week, with an impressive win at Carson followed by a loss against a strong Douglas team.
Anne Schrage and the doubles team of Amanda Pretti and Tara Lincoln led the way against Carson, recording three wins each. Ginetta Sagan and Toby Felman each recorded two wins against the Senators.
Sagan followed up her strong performance against Carson with three more wins against Douglas. Kassidy Garland and Vivi Lucero, Felman and Schrage each had one win against the Douglas squad, which is 8-1 on the year.
The Highlandersand#8217; final regular-season match is against Wooster on the road Thursday at 3 p.m.
and#8220;We are really looking forward to the regionals in both the team and individual competitions,and#8221; said Incline coach Jim Giancola. and#8220;There is a 1A Division for the first time for the smaller schools, and we are hoping to compete well against the teams from schools more our size.
and#8220;That, coupled with the fact that we have lots of relatively inexperienced players who are really improving each week, gives us some confidence going into the postseason.and#8221;
