TRUCKEE, Calif. — Below are select incidents from the Truckee Police Department’s press log for Sept. 11-18, along with previously unreported incidents.Sept. 9• Officers took a report of hit and run collusion on Jibboom Street, resulting in damage to parking meter.Sept. 10• Officer on patrol discovered diesel fuel spilled along the highway by Pioneer Trail. The person responsible for the spill was located and cleaned up the spill. Nevada County Environment Health was notified.Sept. 11• A student reported he had lost his cellphone on Donner Pass Road. • Officers stopped a vehicle after the driver drove it into the bicycle lane for a couple of hundred of feet. The driver was determined to be DUI and was arrested. The incident occurred on Donner Pass Road at Cold Stream Road.• A tow truck driver attempted to remove an illegally parked vehicle on private property in the Martis Valley area. The owner of the vehicle drove away during the tow, resulting in damage to the tow truck and other vehicles. He was later arrested for an outstanding warrant and charges are pending with the District Attorney’s Office.Sept. 12• A subject entered a local hospital requesting clerical staff to dial 911. Upon contacting the subject it was determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject was arrested and booked without incident.• Officers were dispatched to business on Donner Pass Road regarding a shoplifter in custody. The shoplifter was identified and released on a citation for petty theft.• Vehicle collision occurred in parking lot on Donner Pass Road. The suspect driver initially fled the sense, and then returned to exchange vehicle information.• A victim reported leaving his cellphone behind at a business on Highway 267. The victim called his cellphone back and spoke to an unknown individual who stated he did have his phone but he has since got rid of it.Sept. 13• Officer observed a disabled vehicle off of the roadway and stuck on the side of a dirt embankment. The driver was located and subsequently arrested for DUI.• A subject phoned Truckee Police Department dispatch regarding an incident that occurred on Bridge Street. The subject was approached by 3 plain clothes males who identified themselves as task force officers and searched his luggage. The subject was concerned if they were actually who they said they were. The identity of the 3 males was confirmed and they were in fact task force officers.• A female subject was in a verbal argument over sleeping arrangements with her husband and wanted officer assistance.September 14• A single witness called in a possible DUI driver. The witness observed the vehicle weaving. It collided into a fire hydrant, hit a snow pole and almost caused several collisions into other vehicles on the road. The witness saw the driver park the vehicle in a driveway and exit the car. The police arrived on the scene and contacted the driver who was arrested for DUI.September 15• Officers reported domestic dispute between husband and wife on Jeffrey Way. There was no crime; a report was taken for information only.• A subject was taken into protective custody for public intoxication. He was released with no pending charges.• Truckee Police officers were dispatched to Donner Pass Road regarding a family fight. After an investigation, officers determined a domestic assault had taken place. An adult female was booked into Nevada County Sheriff’s Office jail for domestic battery.September 17• A citizen turned in narcotics. The item was recovered and submitted into evidence for destruction.• A vehicle was discovered speeding westbound on Donner Pass Road at Summit Drive. A traffic enforcement stop was made and the driver was found to be intoxicated. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to Tahoe Forest Hospital for blood draw. Then the driver was booked at Nevada County Sheriff’s Office without further incident.
