Fundraiser to be held for local man

A fundraiser for longtime resident and family man Vinnie Contaxis will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Classic Cue at 1961 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Contaxis recently had a stroke, leaving him paralyzed on his right side. He and his family have a very long and expensive rehabilitation road ahead of them. A $15 per person charge will be collected at the door and will include a barbecue meal from 5-7 p.m., free billiards and live music by Doug and Darren (Deep Fried Mojo). There will also be a "Happy Hour" cash bar and silent auction and raffle prize tickets available.

Many local shops and businesses have donated items such as haircuts, restaurant gift certificates, spa treatments, autographed guitars, golf outings, Oakland Raider autographed gear, parasailing, jet ski rentals, fly fishing lessons, gift baskets, snowshoes, and other great local swag. Monetary donations to Contaxis can also be made to U.S. Bank at Al Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe under the name Vinnie and Georgia Contaxis.
