TAHOE CITY, Calif. - The Tahoe League for Charity hosted two exciting activities for its members in September. The first one was the Annual Jim Arthur Memorial Pine Cone Derby held on Sept. 6, at bridge #7 on the Truckee River. Participants paid $5 for each pine cone entry they then launched into the river. When the winning pine cones were scooped out of the Truckee, prizes were awarded and everyone retreated to River Ranch for wine and dinner.
On Sept. 10, the TLC annual Tea was held a the lovely lake-side home of Joanne Moore in Rubicon Bay. Members were encouraged to "dress the part" and to wear creative "fascinators" or hats. Members and their guests enjoyed an assortment of beautifully prepared finger food and teas catered by Marlies, also a member of Tahoe League for Charity. Prizes were awarded to the three most creative fascinators.
