Tiny Mites stay tough

The Tiny Mites went up against a tough Reno Wolf Pack team Saturday at the high school. Tahoe saw outstanding performances on offense from Garrett Friederici, Zander Labonte, Caiden Shumaker and Joel Gomez Jr., who also had a touchdown on defense, continuing his streak of a touchdown in every game so far this season. Other players that had great games on the defensive side were Ande Smith, Anthony Rounds Jr., Mikey Guevara and Seth Fena.

"Our kids gave it their all out there, playing both offense and defense most of the game with little rest, even coming back into the game after a bee sting. That's giving 100 percent if you ask me," coach Joel Gomez said.

We also had great efforts from Ben Arellano, Sayers Tanner, Ryan Britt, Jacob Broadfoot (who had the bee sting) and Omar Manzano. The Tiny Mites will play again at South Tahoe High School Saturday at 1 p.m.
