Mighty Mites add another win

The South Tahoe Mighty Mites extended their win streak to three with a 27-0 shutout against the Greenwave in Fallon, Nev., on Saturday.

Jake Tarwater opened the scoring with a 60-yard punt return for touchdown. On offense, outstanding performances came from Malachi Rounds, Devin Martineau and Hayden Waters who opened big holes on the offensive line. Aiden Rippet, Zackary Degischer and Zackary Klug also turned in fine performances.

For the second straight week, the Mighty Mite defense held its opponent scoreless. The defense has given up just one touchdown in the past three wins. Turning in outstanding performance on defense were Eric Toner, Trenton Schouten and Reese Catchings. This incredible defense is anchored by veteran players, Jeremy Smiley, Derek Robbins, Malachi Womack and Reece O'Keefe, who have played together since they were all 5 years old.

The Mighty Mites will play the Carson Senators at South Tahoe High School Saturday 3 p.m.
