Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of the life of Nancy Hoover Williamson, who passed away Aug. 13, 2012. The gathering will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, 2 p.m. at the old Squirrel's Nest in Homewood, Calif.
Remember when the lights went out
'Twas not because the grid shut down,
But Nancy, don't ya know.
She never liked to cause a scene.
That just was not her way.
But she decided this last time
She'd finally have her say.
Once again we'll all assemble
To celebrate her best.
What other spot could be so grand
As her fabled Squirrel's Nest?
So join us, won't you? Saturday
The thirteenth of October,
And we'll all remember Poppy -
To Hell with being sober.
But when you quaff a drink or two,
Make sure to raise your glass.
Recount a thought or two of Nance,
A local classy lass.
She left us all too early
And way before her time,
But she'll be smiling down on us,
And back within her prime.
The hour to show is 2 p.m.
Please bring something to share.
The event will be a potluck,
So impress Nance with your fare.
Her extended family will be on hand,
So join us up on high
To recollect and fondly recall
Her life at Lake of the Sky.
