Incline volleyball | Highlanders split vs. Sparks, Truckee

The Incline volleyball team split its last two matches in Mount Rose League play, defeating Sparks in three games, 25-19, 25-11, 25-20, this past Friday before falling to Truckee in three game, 25-14, 25-11, 25-8, on Tuesday.

Against the Railroaders, Incline freshman Kira Porter smashed a match-high 16 kills to go along with her nine digs.

Claire Kent tallied nine kills and five service aces, while Ronni Flores finished with seven kills and three service aces, Sophie Shorin had three service aces, 15 assists and seven digs, and Megan Golden had 20 assists.

Truckee's Mackenzie Redner posted 15 kills and Mel Jones had 11 as the Wolverines (14-9 overall, 4-0 league) rolled on Tuesday.

Incline is now 10-6 overall and 2-1 in the Mount Rose League.

UP NEXT: The Highlanders will play another match at Truckee on Friday, Oct. 12, at 6 p.m. They play at North Tahoe the following day at 1 p.m.
