Viking volleyball keeps with winning ways

The girls notched their eighth league win over North Tahoe Friday in three straight games. The lady Vikings won 25-14, 25-15 and 25-23 to advance to 8-3 in league.

As usual, powerhouse hitters Drew Noreberg and Morgan Kaufer led the Vikings offensive effort with 10 kills and three aces apiece. Kaufer also managed to lead defensively with 12 digs. Kaila Griffis also turned in an impressive performance with 11 digs and two kills. Jade Child was not far behind, recording eight digs, one kill and an ace. Emily Gardner dug up four and put down four kills and one block. Bailey David came through with four digs and two aces. Kendhyl Delacour picked up three digs and one ace. Dominique Daniels contributed two digs to the effort. Raquel Marchesseault and Hannah Neiger each collected one dig and two aces. Neiger also added a kill to her collection.

The girls continue to dominate on the court as they make their way toward playoffs.

"For all intents and purposes, yes, we've made playoffs, but tomorrow's win would probably guarantee it," coach Dan McLaughlin said. "We want to lock up the top spot because we want to host."

The girls travel to Sparks today and a win will guarantee them a postseason place.
