Vikings soccer making moves

The South Tahoe girls soccer team turned on the heat at Whittell in a 7-0 win Tuesday. The reigning state champions are now 6-0-1 in league, 14-1-1 over and have secured a playoff spot.

Andi Jo Embry led South Tahoe's attack Tuesday with two goals. Jenny Burks, Brooke King, Ally King, Brittany Sanchez and Jordyn Dion all added to the effort with goals of their own.

South Tahoe's Jensen Smith was named Player of the Game in a near flawless performance. She anchored the defense, and also posed a threat as an attacker from the back, according to head coach Chris DeLeon.

Whittell goalkeeper Brittany Boulet was injured during the game and will likely by out for the remainder of the season. Boulet has collected 72 saves on her impressive season.
