The Tahoe Mountain Sports 6th Annual Pro/Am Disc Golf Tournament held at North Tahoe Regional Park this past weekend was a huge success, selling out to the full 90-player capacity for the second time in six years.
The tournament, a PDGA Sanctioned "B" Pro/Am event, brought high-caliber disc golfers from across the West to the Tahoe Vista course.
The competition was culmination of the Sierra Tahoe Series, which started in Reno back in April and ended on a high note with this event.
"I couldn't believe the turnout," said Tanya Spence, who finished second in the Pro Open women's division. "Everyone brought something different to the table. I even had fun when I wasn't playing."
Players traveled from as far as Arizona, Nevada and Utah.
"I love playing this course," said Blake Tresan, the second-place finisher in the Advanced Masters division. "It's such a beautiful lake, and we're out here having fun in the sun with our friends."
Leah Feltenstein, winner of the tournament's women's Open Pro, said she loved the course and the competition.
Tahoe Mountain Sports owner and event organizer Dave Polivy didn't think he could top last year's tournament, but was pleasantly surprised.
"Every year it gets better. I can't wait for 2013," he said.
