Today is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election
"The deadline is midnight on October 22nd and postmarks are accepted," Bill Schultz, Registrar of Voters, stated in an email.
The easiest way to register is using the state's online voter registration system at www.RegisterToVote.ca.gov. The system applies the voter's signature from the DMV database
and delivers the information electronically to the county. Forms must be submitted by midnight to be valid for the upcoming election.
Traditional registration cards are available throughout the county at post offices and libraries. Registration cards must post marked with Oct. 22.
Voters may also register from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Recorder-Clerk's office at 3368 Lake Tahoe Blvd. #108 in South Lake Tahoe.
Currently, 109,000 voters are registered in El Dorado County, nearly a 5 percent increase since the June 5 Primary Election.
