JV girls finish strong

The South Tahoe JV girls soccer team wrapped up its season with wins over Lowry and Fernley, Saturday in Fallon. Freshman Grace Schouten scored two goals in a 3-1 win over the Buckaroos, and then added two more goals in a 5-0 win over the Vaqueros.

Schouten finished with a team-high 33 points (15 goals, three assists) this season for the Vikings, who finished 15-2 and second place in league play behind Truckee. In August, South Tahoe won the McQueen preseason tournament for the fourth consecutive season, knocking off larger classification schools McQueen and Reno in the process.

Sophomore Kendall Eagen was second on the team with 13 goals, while sophomore Maia Bickert finished with 19 points (seven goals, five assists) and freshman Alejandra Gutierrez was next with 16 points (six goals, four assists).
