The South Tahoe junior varsity boys soccer team needed a couple wins to finish atop league standings this season and did just that. The Vikings traveled to Lowry to take on the Buckaroos and came out with a 6-0 win. Chris Medina scored two goals for the boys. Justin Winand, Austin Williams, Alvaro Orozco and Carson Alexander all posted goals for the Vikings as well. The staunch defense of Jack Kixmiller, Derek Chavez, Jesus Tapia and Carson Alexander along with goalie work from Alvaro Orozco and Danny Teran provided another shutout.
The final game of the season took the Vikings to Sage Ridge where the Vikings came out with six more goals. Williams led the scoring this time with two, and Danny Teran, Cesar Ruiz, Alec Jobbins and Bryce Burrow all netted goals as well. The defense once again shutout the opponent for the 6-0 victory and an exciting finish that kept the Vikings atop their league standing.
"With as young as we are on both squads, the future looks very bright for these athletes in the coming years," coach Bill Spicer said in email.
