Beginning in early childhood I have found libraries a comfortable second "home." From a small bungalo, various-size school and college libraries and always the public libraries have held my enthusiastic visit and support.
Being of insatiable curiosity, even after the invention of the Internet, has been the library-for more indepth answers as well as escape to wonderous worlds of imagination and discovery of words that are illustrations unimagined stories in fiction and fact. Having a hearing impairmnt led me to read more than most, I suspect, and this, in turn, led me to a long-enriching career in school (briefly) and public libraries.
As Orson Card Wells so succintly stated: "... the first step of a thousand journeys, portal to a thousand worlds" (is the library).
