DONNER SUMMIT, Calif. - It's official. Boreal Mountain Resort will open for skiing and snowboarding Friday, Oct. 26, after receiving more than 2 feet of fresh snow this week.
The Donner Summit resort will provide one lift from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The early opening will mark the fourth year in a row that Boreal has provided skiing and riding in October.
Boreal will operate the Castle Peak Quad chairlift offering access to one run featuring multiple terrain park features. The resort plans to operate through the weekend and will assess conditions on Sunday to determine a midweek operating schedule.
