LAKE TAHOE - The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency will release the final draft of the long-awaited Regional Plan Update during a two-day Governing Board meeting this week.
The plan will guide development in the Lake Tahoe Basin for the next twenty years.
The meeting started Wednesday at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach and continues Thursday at Harveys Lake Tahoe in Stateline. Both meetings include a rollout of the final 2011 Threshold Evaluation Report and amendments, the Lake Tahoe Regional Plan Updated Goals and Policies and Final Code of Ordinances, as well as the final regional plan environmental documents, according to a statement from TRPA.
Public comment will be taken at the start and end of the meetings, which are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. A copy of the Governing Board agenda and packet are available at www.trpa.org.
The agency's November meeting will focus on taking public comment on the documents, according to TRPA. The Governing Board is scheduled to take action on the Regional Plan Update at its Dec. 12 meeting.
All Regional Plan Update final documents will be available on the TRPA website starting Wednesday.
TRPA staff will also have thumb drives containing the documents available at the October meeting for $15 each. Payments must be made in cash.
