The Truckee volleyball team defeated Sparks in straight sets on Wednesday and Whittell in four games last Friday to run its win streak to 10 straight entering its final match of the regular season.
The Wolverines started slowly against the Railroaders en route to a 25-21, 25-21, 25-10 victory. Mackenzie Redner and Mel Jones led the way in the kill department, finishing with 18 and 13, respectively, while Jones had nine service points and three aces, and Redner had seven service points.
Kestlie Stefanelli posted a team-high 10 service points and 15 digs, Gabby Moretti had 30 assists and 11 digs, Chelsea Mohun had 16 assists, 13 digs and six kills, Nichole Riofrio had seven service points and five kills, and Bailey Copeland had eight digs.
Redner was Player of the Match against Whittell, which Truckee beat by a score of 25-23, 25-11, 18-25, 25-15. The junior outside hitter finished with a match-high 20 kills to go along with her 19 digs and two service aces.
Jones posted 10 kills, Moretti had 27 assists and four aces, Mohun 13 assists, 11 digs and four kills, Stefanelli 26 digs, and Peak eight service points.
The Wolverines face one final test before postseason play, a home match against South Tahoe on Friday at 6 p.m.
Truckee, which defeated South Tahoe in four games, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-13, on Oct. 16, will enter the match with a perfect 9-0 record in Mount Rose League play and 9-0 against fellow Division I-A schools. The Wolverines are 19-9 overall, with all nine losses against larger divisions.
