George and Mary Kay Richter, owners of Dog.Dog.Cat., recently attended "Destination BootCamp" in Colorado.
The Richter's were among a group of business owners from across North America, and Canada who attended the 2 1/2-day, 20-hour workshop.
"Destination BootCamp" was created by marketing consultant Jon Schallert. It teaches independent business owners how to reposition their businesses as "consumer destinations," according to a press release.
"With the principles we learned at the BootCamp, we will be able to satisfy more of our customers needs and make purchasing dog/cat supplies and gifts a much more enjoyable, fun experience. Additionally, we will be attracting more visitors and tourists from outside South Lake Tahoe," George Richter stated in a press release. "With what we've learned, there's no reason we can't attract our target demographic pet lover from hundreds of miles away."
