The Incline volleyball team split its final two matches of the regular season last week and will enter the Northern Division III regional tournament as a No. 3 seed.
The Highlanders defeated North Tahoe in straight sets, 25-17, 25-22, 25-14, at home on Thursday. They lost in straight sets against visiting Whittell, 20-25, 19-25, 21-25, on Wednesday.
Junior outside hitter Ronni Flores was named Player of the Match the Lakers, as she finished with a match-high 12 kills to go along with her eight digs.
Sophomore Claire Kent tallied 10 kills, 14 digs and five service aces in the win. Megan Golden had 34 assists and five kills, Katie Orlady had 11 digs, Kira Porter had five kills, two blocks and three service aces, and Sophie Shorin had three service aces and six digs.
In the loss to Whittell, which Incline defeated earlier in the season, Golden had 27 assists, Shorin had five service aces, Porter had eight kills, Flores six kills, and Kent six kills and nine digs.
The Highlanders finished the regular season 13-10 overall and 5-5 in Mount Rose League play.
Whittell will host the Division III Northern Region Girls Volleyball Tournament in Zephyr Cove on Friday and Saturday. Incline will enter as a No. 3 seed and will open against sixth-seeded White Pine (11-11 overall, 8-6 league) on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
The winner of that match faces the winner between second-seeded Yerington and seventh-seeded West Wendover in the semifinal round Saturday at 10 a.m.
On the other side of the bracket, top-seeded Pershing County faces eighth-seeded Silver Stage in the quarterfinals, while fourth-seeded Battle Mountain plays fifth-seeded Whittell.
