Warriors volleyball hosts playoffs

A 3-0 win is not a bad way to warm up for playoffs, and that's exactly what the Warriors did Tuesday.

The Whittell High School volleyball team ended regular season play with a road win against North Tahoe.

The girls swept the Lakers 25-14, 25-17, 25-13 and improve their season record to 18-13 overall and 5-5 in league.

Whittell will host Battle Mountain in quarterfinals today at 3 p.m. The winner will advance to semifinals to face either Lovelock or Silver Stage at Whittell at 11:40 a.m. and then move on to finals at 2 p.m. The two volleyball teams that make finals earn an automatic trip to state championships.
