Anderson featured speaker at Silicon Mountain meeting Nov. 12

TRUCKEE - The Silicon Mountain Group, a network of technology professionals who live and work in the Tahoe/Truckee area, is pleased to welcome Jesse Anderson, instructor and curriculum developer with Cloudera Company, who will discuss "Hadoop, Big Data, and Monkeys" during the group's meeting this month.

Jesse will share how he randomly recreated every work of Shakespeare using Hadoop and virtual primates. The project has been featured internationally on the BBC, CNN and Slashdot. By evaluating his Infinite Monkey experiment results and applying them to the real world, Jesse will also discuss how Hadoop helps businesses.

The Nov. 12 meeting will be 6-8 p.m. at the Pizza on the Hill in Tahoe Donner at 11509 Northwoods Blvd. in Truckee. A $5 fee includes pizza and soft drinks.

Before and after the discussion, there will be time for networking with other technology people who live and work in the Tahoe-Truckee region.

This month's event is co-sponsored by New Leaders (NewLeaders.com) and Clear Capital (ClearCapital.com). RSVP to TahoeSiliconMountain@gmail.com. You can also find the "Silicon Mountain" group on LinkedIn and Facebook.
