Incline football | Highlanders fall to Pershing County in postseason

The Incline football team held Pershing County to fewer points in last Friday's opening-round playoff game than in the teams' regular-season finale.

But on the other side of the ball, the Highlanders failed to score at all, and the top-seeded hosts rolled to a 44-0 win. Pershing County won 50-6 the previous week.

The Mustangs (9-1) led 8-0 after one quarter before exploding for 23 in the second quarter to take a 31-0 lead into the half. They added six points in the third and seven in the fourth.

The Highlanders struggled to move the ball against Pershing County's solid defense, as they managed only 83 yards of total offense - 42 through the air and 41 on the ground.

Senior fullback Sean Herrera rushed for 22 yards on 12 attempts, and Jack Clouthier added 19 yards on eight rushes. Quarterbacks Christian Biscotti was 4-of-9 for 20 yards and Jack Clouthier 2-of-4 for 22 yards.

Incline finished the year 6-4 overall.
