The third-seeded Incline volleyball team lost a tough match to sixth-seeded White Pine in the quarterfinal round of the Northern Division III tournament last Friday.
After winning the first two sets, the Highlanders eventually fell in five games, 25-20, 25-16, 24-26, 19-25, 10-15. Incline stats were not available from the match.
White Pine went on to lose to second-seeded Yerington in four games in the semifinal round. Yerington then defeated top-seeded Pershing County in four games in the regional final.
Both teams advanced to the Division III state championship tournament, which is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9-10, at Damonte Ranch and Galena high schools in Reno.
Yerington faces second-seeded The Meadows from the South to open the tournament, while Pershing County plays top Southern seed Calvary Chapel.
