Donations sought for STHS Thanksgiving Clothes Giveaway

Altruism is fashionable.

The third annual Thanksgiving Clothes Giveaway at South Tahoe High School is Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Organized by STHS alumnus and rapper Dreda Dre, the giveaway will provide new and used clothes and blankets to students who need them.

"The first year we gave out $10,000 worth of used clothes and last year we nearly doubled that, and 40 percent was new clothing," Dreda Dre said.

Jackets, hats, shirts, gloves and blankets can be dropped off at The Buttermuffin, 2540 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, or provide your address to and Dreda Dre will rap on your door to pick up the items.

Sponsors include the Powderhouse, The Buttermuffin, Savvy, UHaul and Tahoe Hemp Co.

Dreda Dre's has added a line of T-shirts. He has a new video "Bars on Bars" and is a finalist on the SnowGlobe Facebook contest to perform at the Dec. 29-31 event at Lake Tahoe Community College.
