TAHOE DONNER, Calif. - Tahoe Donner Association proudly introduced their new parking expansion today at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the entrance to parking lot #4 at the downhill ski resort. Attendees included: Robb Etnyre, general manager for Tahoe Donner Association; Tom Johns, president of the board; Steve Miller, treasurer of the board; Jay Lempinen, secretary of the board; Tony Lashbrook, town of Truckee manager; Dan Wilkins, town of Truckee engineer; Alicia Barr, town of Truckee councilwoman (then candidate); and several Tahoe Donner Association staff members as well as Tahoe Donner residents.
According to Forrest Huisman, director of capital projects, "By adding a new parking lot at the Downhill Ski Area, Tahoe Donner now offers an additional 65 additional parking stalls available for guest use which is a 33 percent increase in parking capacity. We now have a total capacity of 260 vehicles spaced on-site, an additional shuttle stop, and on-street overflow parking available during peak season. This enables us to offer our guests additional convenience and service throughout the ski season."
Etnyre added, "This is the start of many coming capital improvements for Tahoe Donner so look forward to many more ribbon-cutting ceremonies as we continue to make improvements to our amenities both public and private."
