SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A reggae band from Sacramento won first place Monday in a Facebook contest to perform at South Lake Tahoe's Dec. 29-31 SnowGlobe festival.
Arden Park Roots will perform a 30-to 45-minute set at the second annual festival at Lake Tahoe Community College. The quartet has three full-length albums, including the recently released "Pipe Dreams," which debuted at No. 2 on ITunes reggae chart.
Two acts from Reno - Boggan and Well Groomed - won second and third place, respectively, and both also will play full sets at the festival.
SnowGlobe will feature a Silent Disco tent where concert-goers will wear headphones. Three DJs were selected in the Facebook contest Monday to play in the Silent Disco: Dreda Dre's DJ Irieyes from South Lake Tahoe, Zeb Early from North Shore and Berkeley's Sam F.
The festival's headliners are Deadmau5, Wiz Khalifa and Cromeo.
