Police investigating fight near Tahoe Keys

Police are investigating a fight on the 2200 block of Montana Avenue that sent one man to the hospital early Friday morning, Lt. David Stevenson said.

Police responded to Barton Memorial Hospital about 3:50 a.m. after a 21-year-old Meyers man reported being in a fight outside of a home near the Tahoe Keys.

The man suffered facial injuries, including swollen lips and eyes as a result of the altercation. The fight happened during a gathering at the house. The man is believed to have been at least acquaintances with those involved in the fight, Stevenson said.

A 44-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman reported being the victim of a robbery outside of the post office on Emerald Bay Road Friday afternoon.

The woman told police that she was walking to the post office about 1 p.m. with a $100 bill for a money order when a man ran up, grabbed the money from her hand and fled on foot, Lt. David Stevenson said.

The woman described the man as a black male adult wearing a white shirt who was about 5 feet 11 inches tall, Stevenson said.
