Pair arrested after mistaking home for their own

Two people were arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance Sunday after allegedly entering a home on the 1000 block of Cellador Road thinking it was their own.

The man and woman knocked on the door of the home about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. When the resident of the home answered the door, the pair entered the home and began removing their clothing, Lt. David Stevenson said.

The resident offered to call the pair a cab, but they refused, saying they were already home, Stevenson said. The resident of the home eventually got the pair to leave and called police, Stevenson said.

When police arrived, they determined the man and woman were under the influence of drugs. The police report did not state what drug was suspected in the incident, Stevenson said.

Both the man and the woman were booked into the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe.
