Village Notes: What's happening in our community

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - Thanksgiving is only a week away and "word on the street" is that more snow is on the way to help fill our village with visitors for the holiday. Bring it on!

This is the last week to donate frozen turkeys to Project MANA as the distribution is on Saturday. Drop off frozen turkeys no later than Friday at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center at 948 Incline Way. Canned goods or monetary donations can be dropped off any time as they can also be used for regular weekly distributions.

If you are looking for someplace to spend Thanksgiving you are in luck as the annual Community Thanksgiving potluck is on Thanksgiving Day at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach. The event is from 2-7 p.m. For information about this event go to www.tahoecommunitythanksgivingcelebration.blogspot.com or call 775-230-1066.

In case you have not noticed, the Toys for Tots collection barrels are out and unwrapped new toys can be dropped in the barrels now. Check out today's Bonanza for a list of all the local giving programs in our area during the holidays.

Tickets are now on sale for the special Mark Twain Celebration, "Secrets to Longevity," This special presentation will be from 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, at the IVGID Rec. Did anyone hear from our local senior bowlers? They were down at the Senior Tournament in Carson over the weekend but mum is the word. We are all waiting to hear the results. Please share.
