Helen Marie Brown Crosbie passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2012, at the age of 58, in Roosevelt, Utah. Helen was born on April 26, 1954 in Roosevelt. Her parents were Raymond Brown and Elizabeth Anderton Brown. She was raised in the Roosevelt area with her siblings: Fred Brown, Rosalee Jessen, Carol Shivers and Brent Brown.
Helen was born as the fifth of five children, and her parents were so happy to have a blue-eyed, blonde-haired baby girl - the only blonde of their 5 children. Her father called her "Helen-copter" because she came into this world like a helicopter: twisting, turning and full of life. She brought a great deal of pride and joy to her entire family.
Helen was a long-time resident of Truckee, California, where she raised her four girls. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her loved ones, cooking her infamous caramel corn or making homemade pickles. She loved music, telling stories and dancing -- and she had a wonderful, playful sense of humor. People flocked to Helen since she loved to have fun and enjoy life to its fullest.
She had a passion for quilting and loved to snuggle down in one of her cozy quilts. Helen was very compassionate and got a sense of satisfaction caretaking for those who were in need. She loved her grandchildren with her whole heart and experienced great joy in seeing them grow.
She returned to her home state of Utah a few years ago to be closer to her siblings and childhood friends.
Helen had a warm, infectious smile and a big heart. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her: friends, neighbors, siblings, daughters, grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many, many others. She is now an angel amongst us.
Helen was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Brown, and her daughter, Jacqui Dodge. Helen is survived by her daughters: Allison Shaffer, Shanie Crosbie and Cassie Keister; by her grandchildren: Kaden and Gavin Dodge, Vladimir and Viviana Keister, and Drake Shaffer; by her sisters Rosalee Jessen and Carol Shivers, and her brother Brent Brown; by her brothers-in-law Gary Jessen and Roy Shivers; and sisters-in-law Bonita Brown and Dawn Brown.
Funeral services will be held at the Truckee Tahoe Mortuary, 10126 Church Street, Truckee, CA on Monday, November 19, at 1:00pm.
"OFFERING love is a mere gesture...
To become an angel...
one needs to BE love...
for love is SEEN with the heart."
