INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - The community is invited to celebrate 20 years of outstanding recreation and fitness service Nov. 30 through Dec. 7 at the Incline Village Recreation Center. The recreation center, built in 1992, operates today as a full-service community center hosting over 50 group and aqua fitness classes each week.This 37,000-square-foot facility offers classes, programs and equipment for all ages and interests, including a 25-yard swimming pool, dry sauna, gymnasium cardio and strength fitness area, showers and locker rooms, plus a lobby with a big screen TV, Tahoe style fireplace, free wireless internet access, computers and a Wii game system.Over the years, additional services including personal training, nutrition consultation and massage therapy have been added to enhance and promote health and wellness in our community. Growing strong are the popular Swim Lessons Program and Silver Stars swim team, both offered throughout the year.The Recreation Center has become a hub for all ages and abilities to participate in a variety of activities including youth and adult volleyball, basketball and indoor soccer programs. Through the years, many special activities and events have been introduced including the Trail of Treats & Terror, Underwater Egg Hunt, Tiny Timbers Gym time for toddlers, Girls' Night In for teens and Shotokan Karate for all ages.As part of the Health & Wellness Initiative, annual fitness challenges inspire those looking to get in better shape as well as fitness enthusiasts alike.
