Locals look to start new brewery in Kings Beach

KINGS BEACH, Calif. - Alibi Ale Works is a new libation collaboration between Kevin Drake and Rich Romo. Romo, a North Tahoe native, and Kevin, a local, have had the itch to start a brewery for many years and are excited to be pooling their collective talents to open Kings Beach's first and only brewery in early 2013.

You can expect progressive interpretations of traditional beer styles as well as experimental beers using local and non-traditional ingredients, wild fermentation techniques, and wood barrel aging.

Alibi Ale Works will be producing relatively small batches (roughly 100 gallons) in order to offer a wide range of beer styles/flavors and will emphasize and respond to community feedback. Alibi Ale Works beer will be available through its tasting room, CSA-style growler club, and at a few select tap accounts throughout North Tahoe and Truckee.

Drake and Romo refer to brewing as the perfect integration of art, craft, and a bit of mad scientist! Already considered mavericks in their creations, they are known to take classic beer styles and draw outside of the lines to produce something special and unique every time.

The objective of this brain child brewery is "to produce handcrafted, suspiciously tasty beers."

But to make this a reality, Alibi needs the public's help. Alibi Ale Works has launched a kickstarter funding campaign, with the hope of raising $35,000 by Dec. 22.

In exchange for even the smallest pledges, Alibi Ale Works will offer rewards. Go to Kickstarter.com and search "Alibi Ale Works" to watch a video and learn about the rewards.
