Obituary | Annalise Gadomski Kjolhede

TAHOE, Calif. - Annalise Gadomski Kjolhede, 24, of Fly Creek and Cooperstown, died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, in Reno, Nev., following an accident while skiing with friends.

Annalise was born in Cooperstown, on June 17, 1988. It was a very happy day for her parents, Chris Larson Kjolhede and Anne Marie Gadomski.

Annalise's first years were in Baltimore, Md. She attended Cooperstown Elementary and Middle School. She graduated from Emma Willard School, Troy, in 2006 and then received her B.S. in Environmental Sciences at the University of Rochester.

She graduated cum laude in 2011 and was awarded the faculty prize for academic excellence. She was granted a Kaufmann Entrepreneurial year at the U of R where she developed a campus microfarm project.

She most recently resided in Truckee, Calif., where she enjoyed both many outdoor activities and a group of faithful friends. She was creative, was developing an interest in cooking and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Annalise is survived by her parents; by her sister, Caitlyn Gadomski Kjolhede and Caitlyn's husband, Thomas Jefferson Hamilton IV; and by her brother, Hans Christian Kjolhede; as well as by stepmoms Barbara Peterson and Celeste Johns. Additionally surviving are paternal grandmother, Ginger Larson Kjolhede, maternal grandmother, Therese Szlenkier Gadomski; and a legion of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorial Services and Celebration of Life were held on Thursday, November 14 at Alpine Meadows, CA, and on Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Fly Creek United Methodist Church, followed by a Reception for Reminiscing at Templeton Hall in Cooperstown, NY.

Donations in her name may be made to the Sierra Nevada Geotourism Project, Sierra Business Council in Truckee. The Sierra Business Council is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
